1. Describe 2 effects that Opium had on Chinese society.
One effect that Opium had on Chinese society most of the population in China became addicted to Opium and another effect was that Corruption was widespread on China because of the addiction of people to Opium.
 
2. Describe why the Chinese Emperor lost his country.
The Chinese Emperor lost his country when he used the boxers to fend off the foreigners, the boxers met an unfortunate defeat. This started the beginning of the end for the Emperor's reign. afer a couple of years the emperor died.
 
3. In your own words, describe Great Britian's role in bringing Chinese society to the brink of collapse.
Great Britain's role in bringing Chinese society to the brink of collapse was when the British started to trade with Opium affecting society in China and the British took control since they won the opium wars.
 
4. Describe in your own words the 'Open Door Policy'
The "Open Door Policy" was an equal foreign trading rights in China. The policy allowed China to maintain its territory as well as stopping discrimination among the foreign countries, it benefited U.S. businesses by giving equal trading rights to all foreign countries.

Current Events

The article talks about how China has developed a  new way of expanding its reach into the American North West. This new way consist in launchers that can be transported in vehicles and launched. This system is called a Transporter-Elector-Launcher (TEL). They also have a Navy and Air force that could operate well beyond the borders.

After China was defeat by the British forces, China paved the way for the opening of the lucrative Chinese market and Chinese society to missionary endeavours. They also built ports to British that allowed British merchants sphere influence in and around the ports. They also legalize the opium as a result people in China became more addicted than they were they would do anything to get it.

Today China seems to be in a better condition than they were during and after the Opium Wars because they China rid itself of opium in 1917, after a long struggle with widespread addiction. Before China went dow because of the addiction of people to drugs and its economy and army were poor. Now China is one of the powerful countries in the world with a strong economy and army force.

The Bay of Bengal is on the west and Arabian Sea on the East.

3)What "raw materials" are among their crops?
Raw Materials such as tea, indigo, coffee, cotton, and jute were among their crops.

4)Who was the MUSLIM ruler who started the Mogul Empire in 1522?

The Martha people of west central India.

6)How were the Hindus treated by the Muslims after this attack?
They had to pay a special tax and their temples were destroyed

The East India Company started to take over in 1757 after the Mughal Empire collapsed.

They wanted to control the resources India had instead of getting them through trade.

Trains were used to trasnfer raw products for villages to the ports and brought manufactured materials back.

I think it was a positive thing because people could comunicate with each other easily and travel from a place to another more frequently.

 It started because the British lacked respect for the religions of India.

How did imperialism contribute to unity and the growth of nationalism in India?

The Indians were discriminated by the British such as getting lower wages and lower positions. These feelings of Nationalism led to the founding of two Nationalist groups. It lead to a union of the two natonalist groups.

  • Nicolas Copernicus: He was a polish cleric and atronomer.
  • Heliocenric Theory: The theoty that the stars and the other planets revolve around the sun.
  • Johannes Kepler: He was a brilliant mathematician who proved mathematically that the planets revolve around the sun
  • Galileo Galilei: He was a 17 year old italian student who discovered the law of pendulum.
  • Scientific Method: It's a logical procedure for gathering and testing ideas.

1)Describe the CANNON LAW
The cannon law was also known as the law of the church.
It consist in matters such as marriage and religious practice.
This law was both religious and political, the church also established courts to try people accused of violating cannon law.
2)Describe what might happen to aperson, like a king, who din't follow cannon law?
The king would be denied salvation.
